ACM Spotlight: Lincoln Electric

August 18, 2026 2 min read

ACM: Getting further plugged into our EV Charging Basecamp, our next profile features Lincoln Electric. We connected with Michael Peash, an account manager at Lincoln Electric, to learn more about the company.

Michael Peash: Lincoln Electric brings 131-year history of innovation and reliability to EV charging and ACM’s EV charging basecamp. We are based in Cleveland, Ohio and are proud to be a longstanding power electronics company. We’ve been at the EV Charging Basecamp since its start in 2024.

ACM: Lincoln Electric’s longevity does not happen by accident. What sets the company apart?

Michael Peash: A key differentiator is Lincoln Electric’s proven history of reliability and dependability in all of our products; and that’s a history we are carrying into the mobility space. We are vertically integrated and all our products are made in North America, many in our Cleveland, Ohio headquarters. More than 80% of our Velion® charger components and parts are manufactured and assembled domestically under one roof. We build our own circuit boards that can withstand severe weather, monitor our chargers 24/7, and provide customers with a three-year parts and service warranty.

ACM: What is Lincoln Electric adding to the momentum in EV charging?

Michael Peash: One of our exciting new offerings is the Velion® 50kW Mobile DC Fast Charger, which is redefining charging flexibility. As the industry's first American-designed and American-assembled mobile DC fast charger, it brings fast, reliable charging directly to where drivers and fleets need it most. Whether serving as a rescue charger, supporting fleet operations, or enabling temporary charging at remote locations, the Velion® 50kW delivers convenient, scalable power on demand. Built with Lincoln Electric's patented trayed-and-potted electronics design process, the charger features critical printed circuit boards and power modules mounted on rigid trays and fully encapsulated in protective epoxy sealants, providing exceptional durability and performance in demanding environments.

ACM: Can you expand on the patented electronics design?

Michael Peash: The trayed-and-potted architecture provides exceptional contaminant protection, preventing moisture, dust, dirt, road grime, and conductive metal particles from reaching sensitive electronics—a significant advantage in fleet depots, ports, industrial facilities, and outdoor installations.

The encapsulation process also provides electrical isolation and enhanced system robustness, helping reduce interference from high-frequency electrical systems while protecting critical electronics from vibration, thermal cycling, and environmental stress.

ACM: What benefits has Lincoln Electric realized in being part of ACM’s EV Charging Basecamp?

Michael Peash: ACM is a perfect match for Lincoln Electric. It is a beautiful facility and brings a lot to the table. It offers exposure to a lot of key people working in new phases of technology, and there are great opportunities to test chargers with various vehicles. Being part of ACM allows us to engage with some of America's leading automotive and mobility organizations, creating opportunities to demonstrate our technology and foster meaningful industry relationships. We’re honored to be at ACM, where a lot of forward-thinking people walk through the door.
