EV Charging Basecamp

A Scalable, Future-Ready Facility for Testing, Validating, and Accelerating EV Charging Technologies

EV Charging Basecamp

The impetus behind the EV Charging Basecamp was to deploy a well-equipped and resourced EV Charging Interoperability Testbed. This testbed provides access to a representative set of DC Fast Chargers and test equipment, enabling auto OEMs, EVSEs, and CPOs to test against and collaborate on advancing EV charger performance.

The EV Charging Basecamp at ACM enhances public charging reliability by enabling consistent, data-driven testing of EVs and chargers across a market-representative ecosystem. Through standardized testing protocols, interoperability assessments, and industry-wide Testival events, it helps identify and resolve barriers to seamless charging to improve consumer experiences. The initiative fosters collaboration among OEMs, EVSEs, and infrastructure providers to improve performance and up-time across the charging network.

The EV Charging Basecamp represents the epicenter of ACM’s EV charging focus that continues to concentrically expand its scope and capabilities. The testbed overall includes both indoor and outdoor test areas and is supported by the following electrical infrastructure, equipment, and tools.
